Family & Community Engagement Manager

Under the direction of the Head Start Director, The Family and Community Engagement Manager will work as part of the content area team of managers/ coordinators/ specialists to integrate Head Start/ Early Head Start services for the children and families. This position is responsible for family and community engagement and services to include social services, ERSEA, child files, volunteers and parent engagement/fatherhood as well as being the lead for child abuse and neglect related activities.  This position is responsible for oversight and development of systems to provide opportunities and support for growth of Head Start/Early Head Start families, so they can identify their own strengths, needs and interests and find their own solutions. Developing a parent and community volunteer program and being the lead on child abuse and neglect issues are also part of this position’s responsibilities. 
 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably related to one or more of the disciplines they oversee.  One year of supervisory/management experience preferred. Two years’ experience in case management preferred.   Effective November 7, 2016, Program must ensure staff who work directly with families on the family partnership process have within eighteen months of hire, AT MINIMUM,  a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.

Early Head Start Caregiver

Early Head Start Caregivers work with another Caregiver in a classroom of children ages infant to 2 ½ years of age. Demonstrates competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions. Plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment. Promote child progress across all Head Start Early Learning Outcomes. Adhere to strict childcare and Head Start guidelines.
Minimum qualifications: CDA (Child Development Associates) or equivalent course work in early child development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Experience as a child caregiver for infants and toddler age children.

Head Start Teacher

The teacher works in a classroom of three-year-old children with the aid of a Teaching Assistant. Demonstrates competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions. Plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment. Promote child progress across all Head Start Early Learning Outcomes. Adhere to strict childcare and Head Start guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, or equivalent coursework with experience in early childhood education.

Head Start Assistant Teacher

The Teaching Assistant works with the Lead Teacher in the classroom of three-year-old students. Demonstrates competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions. Plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment. Promote child progress across all Head Start Early Learning Outcomes. Adhere to strict childcare and Head Start guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications: a CDA credential or statewide certificate that meets or exceeds the requirement for a CDA or are enrolled in a CDA program that will lead to a degree within two years from the date of hire.
